2 cups red lentils
4 cups cold water
1 teaspoon vegetable bouillon (or a veg stock cube)
2 teaspoons garam masala
1 cinnamon stick or a ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch chilli flakes
Place lentils in large sauce pan, ocver with the water add the spices and boulion bring to the boil, reduce to a simmer, stir a few times and cook for roughly 20 minutes until the lentils have absorbed the water and are tender.
Remove cinnamon stick and eat immediately with veg and rice
Alternative fry in low fat cooking spray and garlic for 5 minutes, you can add a slice of creamed coconut or coconut milk but that will increase the calories and fat.
