Homemade play dough

Normal playdough can become pretty icky and germ ridden, make up a fresh batch to play with which you can bin and not be worried about general ick that has been kneaded into it  from the  kiddies. This recipe was given to me from my mother in law. My husband says this stuff can smell funny so if the smell annoys you add a drop or two of lavender or tea tree, both have antiseptic properties.

2 cups plain flour
2 cups of cold water
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
a few drops of food colouring

mix continuously in a large pan over a low heat, once the mixture binds together, remove from heat
